Olachi is:

Glenn "Bunch" Brown - (guitars, vocals)

My music career began at 5 years old, when I picked up my first guitar and began studying music. I then began performing vocals and guitar in churches at the age of 8. At 13, I studied with the great Joel Cowan, of The Inkspots. I worked in his music store and gave lessons in all stringed instruments.

My professional performances began at age 15, when my groups performed opening shows for musical greats like: Ike & Tina Turner, War, P Funkadelic and Natalie Cole. After fulfilling my military duties in the Marines, I joined the band Sasadi. We were acquired by the great Jazz pianist Gene Harris, and ventured on a worldwide tour, playing with Jazz Legends: Nancy Wilson, Herbie Hancock, Cal Jader and Freddie Hubbard, just to mention a few.

After performing at concerts and festivals around the U.S. with Sasadi, Distinctive Movement, The Dirty Dozen and AOA, I continue my work in local churches, studios and on CD projects. Olachi has afforded me the opportunity to perform many styles of music, with some of the area's best musicians. We continue to grow with every performance!

Pablo Glessner - (upright, electric and banjo bass)

- born : handford, washington

- favorite foods: sushi, indian, mediterranean

- musical influences: (not listed in order of importance!): miles davis, john coltrane, james brown, pat metheny, eberhard weber, keith jarrett, milton nascimento, robert johnson, ravi shankar, the beatles, jimi hendrix, eric satie, igor stravinsky

Music and musical instruments have been a fascination for me as long as I can remember. I started out at seven years old with a cheap guitar and a set of bongo drums and got my first bass at 12. I have spent the rest of my life playing a wide variety of music from rock to blues to jazz to ethnic styles. I also love playing and collecting percussion instruments from around the world. I truly believe that music is one of the greatest forces in the universe to communicate and heal.

I sat in with Boa & The Constrictors back in 1999. At the first gig Ricky and I locked in like we had been playing together for years, and I joined the group permanently. It has been a wonderful journey. Now, with the creation of Olachi, we've been able to combine so many musical influences, and create our own distinctive sound. Anyone who attends an Olachi show is in store for a unique musical experience.

Ricky “Sugarcane” Moseley - (drums/percussion, vocals)

- Born: Panama City Beach, FL
- Baseball & Football Nut (Go Braves and Seminoles)
- Favorite foods: Sushi and Dad’s beans and cornbread.
- Hobbies: Acting, Fishing, Graphic Design

- Artists that have influenced/inspired me: Miles, Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Marvin Gaye, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, Pat Metheny, Eberhard Weber (my most recent addition, thanks to Pablo), James Brown, B.B. King, Otis Redding, Steely Dan, Classic Country from the 70s, and too many others to mention.

I knew by age 4 that music was my passion. My earliest musical memories are of Motown and Soul from mom, and country, rock and blues from dad. After my childhood garage band/headbanging days were over, the jazz bug bit me. After that, I began drumming in Florida niteclubs (long before it was legal for me to enter one!), playing everything from rock to pop to jazz to blues. I moved to Denver around 1990 to join a project with some musicians that I worked with in FL. For the next several years, I worked in a number of performing and recording projects with some wonderful musicians. I began playing with Boa & The Constrictors in 1996. In 1999, Pablo came aboard, and thus, the Southpaw Rhythm Section was born! We were fortunate to take our music to other parts of the country and Europe, touring and performing with legends like: Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, Earth, Wind & Fire, Diana Krall, Clint Black, The Neville Brothers and dozens of others.

In 2005, Pablo and I were ready to take on some new challenges, and subsequently formed Olachi in late 2005. A couple of months later, Glenn brought his soulful vocal and guitar playing abilities to the group. Things simply clicked from the first show! It has been a wonderful experience. The band is constantly growing, and we strive to always give our audiences something different and refreshing at every show. An Olachi performance will feature many styles of music, performed with our own creative interpretations.
