Lance Bakemeyer's Hillbilly Hellcats
Lance has spent 27 years playing bluegrass, rockabilly, rock and Top 40 in Colorado. He has shared the stage with John Denver, Junior Brown, Blues Traveller, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Brian Setzer, Jerry Lee Lewis and many others. He was one of the founding members of Mustang Lightning as well as the Hillbilly Hellcats. Chuck Huges, co-founder of the Hillbilly Hellcats is currently touring the world with his version of the Hillbilly Hellcats. Chuck and Lance have a mutual agreement to share the use of Hillbilly Hellcats name. Lance's version of the Hillbilly Hellcats is Colorado based and features Jim Dalton of the Railbenders on lead guitar and vocals, and Carlos Newman on drums. The reason for the "dual" personality of the band is that Lance does not wish to tour, but still would like to play his music close to home and formed his own band on the advice of Chuck. Best known for his standup slap bass work, Lance can also play the guitar and banjo. In the early 80's he was a several state champion banjo picker. Lance is also a songwriter and has several songs in movies and on tv shows.
