Going back to 1973 in Portland Oregon, J.C. & The Water Walkers was made up of four musician friends fresh out of Vietnam who just wanted to share the music with the people. They performed at festivals, sidewalks, pubs, coffee shops & parking lots. The sound they created was likened to The Faces, The Stones, Grateful Dead, Little Feat, and many others. Fronted by my long-haired uncle, whose wish was to keep the pure sound of Rock & Blues alive. The band performed together for 8 years, sometimes changing it's members, but always maintaining that distinct sound, bringing the music to the people, and leaving them wanting more! Their influences were based on artists such as Ronnie Lane, Gregg Allman, Rod Stewart, Paul Rogers, Phil Lesh, Jerry Garcia & Jeff Beck. After the group separated in 1981, it was then that my uncle asked me to keep the sound going. He was very influential on me when it came to the music I listened to. So when I was old enough, it was my turn to share the music with the people. Playing that pure sound of Rock Blues, had to be shared with others. I first cut my teeth at the age of 17 on Rock Blues, playin' in all the bars, venues, music festivals & backstreet pubs as often as I could. After performing all over the Pacific Northwest & touring the west coast blues circuit for almost 20 years, it was time to move on. Now based in Denver Colorado, JC & The Water Walkers has found a new venue. Keeping the same credo- "Share the music", the Water Walkers are new and improved! With a lineup of well-seasoned musicians, the sound is better than ever! Since the bands arrival on the Denver scene back in December 2009... we’ve been booked for multiple shows in a very short time. Our most recent performance & Colorado Debut, was at the Denver Landmark, Zephyr Lounge in Aurora Colorado on December 11th, 2009. As quoted by the owner & staff, "We have a tight sound & a great mix of Retro Rock & Blues". Since our first show, our performance calendar has started to fill up quickly. As we had hoped, we are now booking shows for the 2010 season with plans to record a new album, and perform live for CCTV in May 2010. We want to welcome all of our friends and fans to our new website, and ask that you come see what it's all about.
